It is Saturday, 17th May 2025, the sun is shining here in Ireland, and I am currently reading Bonded in Death.

This is book 60 in the In Death series and was released on 4 February 2025.       These books are also known as the Eve Dallas books.    Instead of an old woman or man, we have a young female homicide detective, Lieutenant Eve Dallas, who, like any fictional detective, always gets her murderer.  The books are set about 30 years in the future, which adds a nice twist.

In Bonded in Death, it turns out that the Italian male murdered shortly after landing in New York was part of a clandestine group formed during the urban wars.    For reasons unknown, the murderer has decided to kill the remaining members of this group.  It is up to Eve to stop the murderer before another one dies.

Why have they all taken shelter under Eve’s roof?

Can their interviews provide valuable input in identifying the suspect?

Why does the murderer feel justified in taking them out?

There is this feeling that there may have been a horrific betrayal, and you start to wonder if everyone is telling the truth about past events.  The murder, suspense, revenge, tragedy, growth and justice all keep me going back to this series, and on that note, I am going to make a cup of tea and get out into the sunshine to finish the book.    This is Ireland; that glowing ball in the sky does not appear from behind clouds very often.
