Jessie is my middle-aged tomcat. If you have ever seen the kids’ cartoon Postman Pat, Jessie has the same white tip on his tail.
He likes to invade my space when he is hungry or wants to be petted. When I’m working, it can be quite a pain to have him extend his claws and rest his paw on my leg threateningly.
All the cats I have ever owned have come from rescue centres. Jessie is the exception; I rescued him from my brothers’ house. The poor wee mite was one among a menagerie of animals in that house, along with half a dozen (6) children.
Sometime in the middle of the night, he comes into my room and, without disturbing me, settles down by my legs. He then proceeds to masterfully manoeuvre me so that he gets the most significant portion of the bed. He is a cat-shaped bedhog. He also has hay fever and snores.
