Outfoxing Fate is the 11th book in the Virtue Shifters Series.
In this book, Lola returns to her hometown over fifty years after fleeing in the night following the death of Sam, the man she loved and was to marry. She has two reasons for returning. Firstly, to visit her Granddaughter and secondly to discover for herself if her Sam really is alive. After all, she had been at his funeral the night she fled.
Widowed early, she had had a pleasant marriage, born a daughter and was now closing in on 70 years of age. Her granddaughter Charlee lives and works in the town of Virtue, a shifter sanctuary, and has informed Lola that Sam is alive.
Sam has never married. His parents died early, however, his parents’ Will states that he must have a companion before he is eligible for the inheritance. It does not say marriage. Over the years, he has fostered shifter children, one of whom is his current companion, and switches between using Mr Todd and Dad depending on the formality required and really to wind up his adoptive parent.
Things have changed in Virtue, and Lola and Sam rediscover the town and the love they had for each other. We find out about that fateful night when the plane that Sam was on crashed, how he was the only survivor, and what caused Lola to run.
This is a second-chance shifter romance with a delightful twist near the end. This book will make you go awww.
